K9 Argo Passing
It is with great sadness that the Loveland Police Division announces the death of its first ever K9, "Argo." Argo, 11, passed away with his partner by his side, in a local medical facility on April 29, 2010. Argo had faced numerous health problems over the past few years after his retirement in 2006. Argo was the willing, dedicated and loyal partner to K9 Officer Jose Alejandro. Together, this team won many local, regional and national awards. Some of these awards include placing first in the 2003 regional United States Police Canine Association trials and competition in Middletown, Ohio (2 consecutive years). In 2005, Officer Alejandro and Argo were the 5th ranked canine team in the entire country. Argo also participated in many school and public demonstrations. For 9 years, Argo kept his partner, his fellow officers and the City of Loveland safe. The Loveland Police Division would like to express its sympathies to Officer Jose Alejandro and his family and all those who knew and worked with Argo. He will be greatly missed...
